Oh my God this blu-ray is fantastic.

The plot summary on the back, the transfer details, this set is just as strange as it deserves to be. I haven't even started on how beautiful the film itself finally looks.
Thank you Criterion!

just got it and i am looking forward to watching just about everything on it after work tonight. i cant wait!!!

reply

Interesting. I have seeen several reviews that said the transfer was really poor so i held out.

reply

its not a poor transfer, ive seen better but considering its a universal title, criterion did a much better job with it than universal would have. the bonus features are worth it also.

reply

i read it was a *beep* transfer

reply

So now you have one opinion that it was a *beep* transfer and one that it's not.

reply

let me rephrase. I read its not, in a lot of places. Its a *beep* transfer.. check anywhere.

reply

Okay, I checked anywhere...

A lot of places say it's not a *beep* transfer. So it's not a fact, just different opinions.

reply

*beep* me, what a loser. bye.

reply

And since you haven't seen the Blu-ray, your opinion is *beep*. Later.

reply

Transfer is beyond exceptional. I blew it up in 1080p on my home theater screen and the improvement from the DVD was breathtaking.

They are the best and the only ones I trust. Criterion always works with the director on the transfer so that they can get as close to his original intent as possible. I always trust them.

The booklet in the criterion version is funny. Its spoofing the pretentious interviews normally included in those books.
