Director's Cut?

Just saw this film the other day and since I'm a big Asia fan I was very entertained.

However the film looked chopped to bits. There are a load of differences from the trailer (still available at http://www.b-monkey.jp/)

The director has said it was his best work until the hacks got at it...so please Mr. Radford how about a directors cut DVD?

I hope the director's cut has more Bruno and Paul in it. Although I liked the film as it is, they were the more interesting characters. But they would only get 30 seconds of screen time before the 'action' switched to the other two - wearing cardigans and talking about jazz - when I, quite frankly, really wanted to know what Meyers and Everett were up to.

It might have been cut to hell...but I think Asia Argentos gratuitous nudity was the only redeeming feature of this film, that and the django reinhardt songs on the soundtrack.

I agree that there should have been more on the Bruno and Paul story line. I felt that the Bruno character had so much more to offer than what was shown on screen. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays Bruno with so much pain and vulnerability that I just wanted to take him in like a strayed puppy and cuddle him. Bruno obviously was a lost soul looking for the stability of family and home. That's why he loved Beatrice so much as she was like a big sister to him. Paul's character could've been the father figure, however, Bruno seems to constantly have to compromise himself sexually just to feel wanted and loved by an older male father figure. This explains why he erupts with such anger when he is being thrown out of the "family unit". His frustrations of never finding love is what makes him so volatile.

*Spoilers*
One serious difference I noticed in the trailer was that the white car that Bruno puts the bodies in at the end of the film is shown blowing up as he drives away, Alan and B. watching. WTF??? Does this mean that he dies? Was there a whole different ending in the directors cut? Does anyone have any info?

I noticed loads of differences between the trailer and the movie and submitted them all to IMDb for the "alternate version" section....but nothing ever came of it...definitely the film was chopped to bits...shame...

Per an interview w/ JRM, there were a lot of different endings shot, and he wasn't sure if Bruno lived or died til he saw the final cut.

I, too, would love to see a version with more Bruno and Paul in it.
