Parents watch it before showing it to your kids

I'm not saying this movie has content wildly unsuitable for kids (although the violence/scariness could be a problem for very young ones or highly sensitive ones). The big issue is the humor (it's all adult oriented and will probably fly over the heads of most pre-teens and even some adults). I'm not going to give an age recommendation, just saying that if you want to watch it with your kids and you haven't seen it, watch it and decide whether your kids will likely get it. The humor is standard Woody Allen fare, even though he's not the director or an official writer. Some kids will likely be bored out of their brains so the movie is best saved for when they get older as it's a fantastic movie for adults and it would be a shame to have kids write it off as "boring." Disney/Pixar movies are great for families as they have humor to appeal to both kids and adults, Antz only has the latter. You know your kids best so you're the best judge as to whether they'll get it if you watch it first, in terms of scariness some 4 year olds will be fine and some 8 year olds will have nightmares will in terms of humor some 10 year olds will appreciate it and some adults won't. Probably for viewing with a young family A Bug's Life is a better bet, it's not as clever but it's entertaining enough for adults and more to appeal to kids. I'm just trying to save you from the disappointment of your kid saying "that sucked." Some parents might have experienced that while some will say their kids enjoyed it, in which case be happy that you have smart kids. Anyway I'm not a parent, I'm a 31 year old single male but if I ever have kids they'll definitely be watching A Bug's Life before Antz.

This movie came out in 98' when I was 7 and I found this movie rather enjoyable if nt one of my favorites. For younger years (4-8), sure 'A Bugs Life' would be more suitable but I don't think this movie is at all too mature for them?
