Why is it that, in almost all of the John Hurt movies I've seen, he DIES at the end?

Here's a list of the John Hurt movies I've seen (list contains spoilers for other JH movies):
Alien
Spaceballs (well, that's a humorous death, so it doesn't bother me)
Little Sweetheart
The Elephant Man
All the Little Animals

It's like Brad Dourif movies, Brad dies a lot too!

I guess because John and Brad are good at death scenes, lol.

And not forgetting to mention he gets a bullet through the head at the end of V for Vendetta.

But anyway...I seen this film the other night.....its pretty honking.

Kevin Spacey dies in most of his movies too I believe

John Hurt also dies in "Contact" and "The Climb." I think his character had cancer in both movies.

contact? the movie where she meets aliens? i don't remember anyone dying in this movie. i also have a bad memory. lol!

Well, I read the book that is the basis for his new movie 'The Oxford Murders'. do you want to know now or do you want to wait and find out if he dies?

am buglet 82....I noticed the very same thing about his movies...I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I do love John Hurt though!

Restaurants that never have to close. Breakfast every hour it could save the world.

I don't know why.

Don't forget the character he voices in Watership Down, Hazel, also succumbs.

But it's a peaceful death.

Interesting. Hurt also died in, "Heaven's gate"...not sure if Dourif died as well/killed.

He didn't die in "1984".

Don't forget Hellboy, he was killed there too.

John Hurt also died in "Lost Souls". This man's seemingly born to die! Over and over again. Like in an old Twilight Zone episode... ;-)

He also died in I, Claudius.
