i realize no one comes here but...

i just thought i would share that i love this movie but get super depressed whenever i watch it. the way animals and learning handicapped people are treated are brutal in this movie and it really makes me hate living =(

It is a beautiful movie, and Christian Bale's acting was superb, his crying scenes were heartbreaking, just wanna give him a hug!
It is depressing how those people are treated, I think people like Bobby should be treated as best as possible no matter what. People like the guy in the truck that picked him up (the one that died, hey if he wasn't such a terrible person, he would be alive, that's what I think.) should be locked up- imo. If they have that little compassion then they shouldn't be around people or animals, best place for them is a padded room.

super sad thing is, i think there are more people than not that would go out of their way to kill an animal on the road.

reply

oh my, that makes me so angry I can't hardly restrain myself from killing THEM!
How can people be so heartless!?!!?

i feel the same. i hate saying this, but we have more heartless *beep* in the world that loving people who care about animals.

That's very true, we do have more jerks, I just can't understand it, doesn't make sense to me. Humans should be created with a strong compassion within them, those who don't have that, imo, have a strange, dangerous mental disorder.

That dangerous mental disorder is called human nature. It's poisonous. It's why I refuse to reproduce.

I recently (today) saw this movie for the first time. I really liked it. I don't think I've gotten this into a movie in a long time. Sometimes my mom pretends that she's going to run over squirrels with her car and it makes me so made. She hasn't hit one while i'm with her yet, but still. I'm so against animal cruelty. Maybe I'll move out into the country somewhere and make my life work to take care of road kill.

I just saw this movie, it reminds me that you have to have some sort of mental condition to actually be a nice human being. I'm used to *beep* Hollywood movies with huge CGI begets whose writers probably couldn't spell character development. I almost cried in a few parts, almost, and that's saying something.

I disagree. there are bad people and good people. there are bad animals and good animals. Not to mention that people are greatly influenced by their upbringing. I have never ever had any desire to be cruel to animals. Have you? If you what you say is true then you also have a strong desire to be cruel to animals. is this the case? My wife loves animals and all my children do. So please don't make grand generalizations that are based on emotion rather than facts. You have to take this on an individual basis.

No one comes here because it is a little-known film, even with Christian Bale's fame. Regardless of how one feels about people(I sympathize) volunteer at your local animal shelter with the cats or dogs, it will be most rewarding!🐱🐶
