The Death of Disco Dottie

The most shocking scene was the demise of Old Dottie. I remember the scene in the chemist where Shane was shopping, Dottie (or Mona as she was really called)was with her grand-daughter. She slips Shane some cash which was so cool of her. She was a great character - so it was a shock when the cocaine finally did her in on the dance floor.

Yeah, that freaked me out too. If my grandma ever said *beep* I think I would die. And if my grandma ever tooted coke, I think I would die twice. I'm actually watching 54 now. They are doing Christmas, and they showed an invitation asking guests to come to 54, on Dec. 31, 1978 to ring in 1980.
I'm not sure if it was intentional or not. Editors were asleep I guess.
Now they are showing Disco Dottie dancing to "Native New Yorker." Great song.
It was sad when Disco Dottie died. It looked as if Shane was the only one concerned about her. I loved the end though. Anita got her disco album and everyone seemed to have moved on from 54 and the bygone days of the late 70's.

In a movie that shows a lot of drug use having a casualty is almost obligatory.

So sad to watch that scene.
