I agree with you, it's a nice "feel good movie". I watched the dvd yesterday. I haven't seen this movie since 1998. Vanessa L. Williams did a good job, if she did all her dance moves. Chayanne is a very good dancer and singer, too bad he didn't pursue a Hollywood career.

It's been airing quite well on tv over the years, i think i saw it when it was pretty new, a really enjoyable watch. but i find something hysterical as i look around here, about 90% or more, or probably the entire imdb board about this movie, has got "song" in the topic. just look around.

the lady with the gray dress on,
knows how to love me all night, and all day long,
your wonderful ways, knocks me off the floor,
and you give my heart, just what it wishes for,
you put me in trance, and i fall into your spell,
all negative moves away in a dance, and everything is well,
lady in gray, you make me tick,
and when you arrive, i just don't see those other chicks,
you got me rolled around your little finger,
can't you tell by this song that i sing her,
your loving ways are so good,
and you glow like a rose in pine woods,
you put hot steam in my home,
you, lady with the gray dress on.

That's what I thought too... It's a nice movie. It's just that the title always seem to escape me. Vanessa Williams was very impressive here, i think this was after eraser, if I remember correctly.

I recall my now ex wife dragging me to the theaters to see this...I recall even "playing" with my Umbrella out of boredom...

Since then and with repeated viewings on various cable channels, I've grown to REALLY LIKE this movie...I have and love the CD soundtrack (which sits on my Ipod). Vanessa and Cheyenne had REALLY good chemistry. The 2nd dance outing scene is one of my favorite club/dance scenes in ANY movie!
