Chayane, close..but no cigar

In particular, a Cuban cigar. Chayane is a good dancer, looked good and is a talented actor, however, he fell quite short of being a convincing Cubano. His character is supposed to be from the eastern end of Cuba-Santiago where they speak differently from other Cubans like those from Havana, it's similar to how people from New Orleans speak different for the rest of the South and of course the USA

When Rafael wals into the store that sells used truck parts and the clerk comes out and "recognizes" him as being from Santiago supposedly because of the way he speaks, Chayane wouldn't convince a Cuban in the world he was from Santiago or Cuban. The clerk himself was obviously niether as well. As they say, that's Hollywood!

I'm a Puerto Rican living in FL around a lot of CUBANS and indeed, your right, he sounds VERY P.R...not Cuban.

But its a movie, gotta suspend a little disbelief. Its not like this is an Oscar Nominated film!
