what if DArk Specter found out it was Astronema who was trying to destroy him by stealing his energy, what would Dark Specter have done?
and in Countdown to Destruction, why did Astronema try to build a super torpedo to destroy earth? Why kill billions of innocent people?
He would have probably destroyed Astronema and Ecliptor just to be sure . The reason Astronema tried to destroy Earth was she knew all but one of the Astro Rangers were from there and she wanted to deny The Rangers the satisfaction of returning home so it was a strategic move on her part with a personal element to it .

shareYeah, he would've destroyed Astronema. Who knows who would've gotten her job. Likely not any former villains, as they all proved nothing but failure, except Divatox, who did defeat the Rangers. Maybe Darkonda, after all Specter did let him fill in during Astronema's absence before.

Rita & Zedd would have a slight chance at leadership I suppose. They did manage to destroy the Command Center, and came close to obtaining the Zeo Crystal before Mondo butted in.
Dark Specter once threatened to kill Astronema in her sleep, so I guess that's his choice method.
Dark Specter was monstrous, but I wouldn't call him scary. After all, we all know who was toned down for scaring the kids.

Rita & Zedd failed many times. It's a but hard to believe that Dark Specter would trust them with that kind of power.

Wow Dark Specter is more evil than all those other villains, and seeing how he forced the Rangers to bring Astronema to her was to have an asteroid head to earth.

shareNo clue what words he would use, but he definitely would not trust King Mondo with such a position. Remember, Mondo had left the alliance of evil to work on his own, before rejoining after the events of Zeo.
shareYou have a great point about King Mondo being untrustworthy. In addition to that unlike Divatox and Lord Zedd and Rita, the Machine Empire had no significant or devastating victories over the Power Rangers whatsoever. The only real victory the Machine Empire had was enslaving the Phantom Ranger's world in Countdown To Destruction.
In contrast Rita and Lord Zedd had dealt some of the most devastating defeats to the Power Rangers that any villain has accomplished such as:-
-destroying Tommy's Dragonzord Green Ranger powers
-damaging the Dino Power Coins beyond use
-completely destroying the Dinozords/Thunderzords
-completely destroying the Ninja Power Coins
-destroying the Command Centre (as mentioned in the earlier posts)
The latter 4 defeats all occurred in just a matter of months. In addition to that Lord Zedd and Co temporarily destroyed the Machine Empire and finally enslaved the Vica Galaxy in Countdown To Destruction. Taking all of this into consideration Zedd and Co would certainly have been worthy of replacing Astronema.
Excellent points regarding Zedd and Rita. With all that in mind, they would be good candidates, more so than Divatox even(who it turns out didn't destroy the Rangers quite like she was bragging about)

Yeah. I think if anything the show should have had Divatox team discover and take the Rangers Captive then have Andros save them at the Conference.
Specters minion could have had Divatox ordered to bring them there to be destroyed in front of all the villains, but first allow them to witness their beloved Zordon perish once and for all. Once saved Justin could have been sent back home eventually to go be with his father. I think that would have been better then seeing a kid sneak into a heavily guarded Military base undetected. As if Cameras didn't exist at all there lol.
