andros + cassie

wouldve have been an interesting couple in this series!

reply

Well, the way the series goes is was always Red+Pink.

I wanted to see Cassie and Andros as a couple but they just had to pair him up with Ashley. Who did nothing for me. Cassie Rocked!!!

reply

well since they always paired up the pink and red they probrably just wanted to make a difference which didnt make sense cuz in lost galaxy it went back to pink and red.

reply

Cassie and TJ had something going on. I always thought that Ashley and Carlos had something going on aswell before Andros.

reply

I always thought that Cassie and Carlos had something going on n i thought Ashley and Andros had sometning going on

reply

Ok this is my 2 cents. Carlos was a dork and not right for Ashley. And cassie was to (well i'm not hatin') lesbian. Ok and they needed a tommy-kimberly couple so Andros(long hair) and Ashley(cute and dark haired). I love Andros and Ashley! They should use that couple and their children later in the series. Because its never gonig to end!? :(

reply

I AGREE ABOUT THE WHOLE ASHLEY AND ANDROS THING, CASSIE AND ANDROS, TO ME, DONT REALLY MATCH AS MUCH AS THEY DO. BUT I THINK CASSIE COOL, BUT I THOUGHT SHE AND CARLOS HAD SOMETHING GOING ON, OH WEELL, BUT I LIKED ASHLEY AND ANDROS.

reply

Maybe Tracy and Christopher had more chemistry on stage than Patricia and Chris did? Who knows. At any rate I can't imagine Andros with Cassie. It's always going to be Andros and Ashley for me.

reply

Do you want my oppion? I think that Carios and Ashely had something going. Carlos really like Ashley very so, I feel Ashely is a flirt she would hit on a screencrow if it was a power ranger. As for Cassie and Andros I feel TJ's the man for Cassie he's always there for her. Cassie not gay she likes guys not girls come on you guys that high school stuff grow-up

reply

Ya'll are being silly.

Everybody knows that the real juicy story was what was goin' on with Andros and Zhane.

*wink*

reply

LOL! I concur!

reply

i couldn't agree with you more flyingpurplepony. There had to be something going on. You may really care about your best friend but to freeze him in hypersleep for two years? Yeah...there's something more to that. And...I think Andros was jealous of Ashley hitting on Zhane in Red with Envy.

But on the Andros/Ashley front...I always thought the writers were pretty obvious about them. I kind of Cassie and Carlos...I don't know...worked too. Maybe it was just the darker features went well together.

reply

I agree. I already liked Cassie and they would have made a great pair.

reply

cassie had a thing for the phantom ranger so was "taken" and so andros only had ashley as a choice, the pink one was taken, so as the leader he gets a girlfriend, but he has to move on to the yellow.

reply

I'm not too sure where this Red/Pink coupling came from. I thought Jason liked Trini. I'm a major Cassie fan. Anyway, I could totally see Cassie with Andros and T.J., but not Carlos and as for the bi/lesbo thing, hey, it's all good. But I am a total Cassie/Phantom Ranger supporter and I bet that after the fight he went to see her and he proposed! Well, I dreamt that anyway. I could pretty much see Cassie in any relationship. Aw, hell, I could see Cassie getting it on with the Psycho Rangers! Of course, I'm just weird like that.

Don't hate me for my logic!

reply

i def picked up on the carlos and ashley thing too...as well as the tj and cassie...! but back to andros & cassie, yeah i was thinking along the lines of red & pink. although the andros & ashley coupling is quite typical for many shows: the quiet guy and the popular girl. =]

reply

I didn't see it that way. Course I'm the girl that says a ranger could get it on with her evil clones. I'm insane and not entirely human. I think.

reply

I always thought Andros and Ashley just fit better than any other pair-up. Obviously the writers of the show agreed with me, because it was Andros and Ashley who had the most moments throughout the series, and even ended up together partway through and at the end. Those two just made a great couple.

reply

True, but I thought Ashley and Carlos would've looked good too.

reply

Yeah, but there's one reason I think Ashley needed to end up with Andros instead of anyone else: they're complete opposites. Who better to break the stoic red ranger from his shell than the most social person in the group? It's just one of those formulas that has been proven to work countless times in the past, and it worked in PRiS as well.

reply

Dude, I don't care! I never liked Ashley that much! I was a hard core Cassie fan. Still am and always will be.

reply

I'm not saying anything against Cassie. I always liked her too, don't get me wrong.

reply

Well hints were there for Andros and Cassie. Nothing major, but hints. And Smith, I'm not mad and I know you weren't bashing Cassie. I just snappy. LOL

reply

Hints were made with TJ/Cassie too you guys forgot the begining of Tubo and in Space when TJ was hurt by Psycho Blue and Cassie was the one that screem noooooooooooooo and ran to her friend side. The Andros/Cassie thing Cassie like TJ not Andros in that way she just like Andros as a friend that's all I though the same thing about Andros/Cassie but he enjoyed the company with Ashely lot more than Cassie though. Carlos was alittle immature in Turbo to be Ashely boyfriend at that time but in Space he mature some and she should of gave him a chance. But I see Cassie with TJ not Andros.

reply

well, I see her with Phantom more than TJ and Andros. I guess it's a matter of opinion.

reply

yeah, I really didn't see anything happening between carlos and cassie, nor tj and cassie. after this series I became an ashley fan, and thought that andros and ashley really looked good together on screen. they both clicked immediately after the first episode, and I'm glad that the writers always incorporated some "flirting" between them in each episode.

reply

yeah I saw that too. Wish they would've worked more on it, but stupid kid show producers and stuff couldn't cause it's not exactly kid appropriate. That's a load of bull if you ask me.

reply

I saw some Chemisty between TJ/Cassie at the beging of Passing the Torch they made a great couple I think Andros on the other hand belongs with Ashely she was always there for Andros even when he wanted to find his sis Karone. Cassie likes TJ not Andros, Andros likes Ashely not Cassie.

reply

Actually, I think Cassie's more Phantom's girl than TJ's.

reply

I agree with that one. I'm also MAJOR Cassie fan :)

reply

What's up friend! Good to see another Cassie fan! Cassie rules!

reply

Yeah she does, she has always been my favourite Pink ranger, well i used to be a huge fan of Kimberly when i was younger but i guess i grew out of that phaze.

reply

I never really did like Kimberly. She just wasn't cool to me. And before Cassie I wasn't a big fan of any of the other pink rangers. Cassie's been the first pink ranger I actually liked. She's so cool!

reply

I've always been a Pink ranger fan even though i disliked kat. But Cassie was defintely the stand out Pink ranger by far.

reply

I think she set the bar for Pink Rangers. Some have come close, but they haven't suceeded.

reply

From the pink rangers Katherine and Cassie are my favourites.

reply

Interesting discussion. It's been soooo long since I watched this series, but Tommy/Kat lasting through two eras (and Kim being pink where Tommy became red) sort of solidified the red/pink thing I guess. Sort of the leader gets the pink ranger kind of thing. I liked that they switched it up this time around. It made them more of a standout.

As for Ashley/Carlos, they definitely had some chemistry in Turbo but it was obviously dropped in favor of putting her with Andros. Can't have the leader being single, right?

reply

The couples were:

Andros/Ashley (main)
Cassie/Phantom Ranger (implied)
Zhane/Astronema/Karone (past romance/possible future)

If anyone had a problem with it not being a red/pink ranger romance, Ashley was originally planned to be the pink ranger.

reply

No that doesn't solidify anything. Tommy wasn't always the red ranger. He was green, then white, and then red. It took him 3 years before becoming the red ranger. There's never been a rule that red and pink always end up together. At least not in the actual Power Rangers show. Anything after Zordon's death isn't really Power Rangers IMO. It's always been based on interest between the characters. Kimberly liked Tommy before she knew he was going to be a power ranger. Kat wanted Tommy before he became the red ranger and it was leading up to that with how she would drool over him. Part of her vicious acts on Kimberly is because she had a crush on Tommy and was jealous of Kimberly's relationship with him. Another good reason to hate Kat. So red and pink do not always end up together. Andros and Ashley had chemistry. That is why the writers put these two together and it worked.

reply

No that was not a good reason to hate Kat because she was manipulated by Rita and afterward she was nothing but a good friend to him. When Kim broke up with him she tried to make him feel better not by putting herself in there as an option, but trying to hook him up with someone else. And when they finally got together TOMMY was the one to pursue her, not the other way around.

And now with the new movie coming out they are putting Kimberly with Jason, so they ARE still going with the red/pink thing.

I just rewatched her entrance episodes. She takes a photo of Tommy and Kim tearing Kim out of the photo and kept the part with Tommy. Also there's the scene where they're in a car together and she's holding onto him. She's a homewrecker. She was developing a crush on Tommy when she first met him. That had nothing to do with Rita's spell. Rita's spell was to destroy the Power Rangers like her spell on Tommy. Tommy had no interest in Kimberly while under Rita's spell. He wanted to destroy them all. Rewatching Kat's first episodes, you'll see Kat was manipulative on her own when it came to Tommy and Kimberly's relationship. I can't believe the writers gave her a happy ending. She didn't deserve it.

I don't know anything about the new movie coming out. The post I responded to is from 2012 before the new movie was even in the making. At that time there was no thing of red always being with pink. If there was, then Kimberly would have been with Jason instead of Tommy. For the first 156 episodes of Power Rangers, there was no red/pink thing going on. It really is the characters themselves based on interests and chemistry, not their costume color.

reply

I didn't get a response in my email until yesterday when I replied. But I am seriously not going to argue about a 20 year old story with someone that's determined to hate a protagonist who was manipulated. Sure, she liked Tommy, but she wasn't acting on anything until Rita did what she did.

By 2012 there was certainly enough cases of Red and Pink, and now we're seeing it again, so that's enough confirmation for me. It doesn't really matter to me what you think

reply

Who's arguing? I'm sharing my opinions of what I feel about the show like you are. You mentioned Rita's spell and I don't feel that's the cause for how Kat acted towards Tommy based on how Rita's spell affected Tommy during the green ranger saga. Tommy was cruel when under Rita's spell. Kat was able to develop a crush on Tommy and act on it which makes me think that part of her actions wasn't due to the spell Rita placed her on. Unless there's a scene I'm forgetting that you remember, I don't think Kat was all that nice to begin with in her first episodes with Kimberly.

If you're referring to the new reincarnations of Power Rangers after Space, I never followed them. For me growing up in the 90's, Power Rangers was based on Zordon and his mission. After he was killed and all the monsters faded or changed back to human, I didn't see a reason for the show to continue. I tried Galaxy and Lightspeed but I never finished them because it wasn't interesting for me. If they started a red / pink romance thing, that started after the Zordon years. In the Zordon series it wasn't based on costume color otherwise Kimberly never would have been with Tommy.

reply

I would have liked to seen Cassie and TJs story continue on from their arrival to Angel Grove but like many others, it was dropped.

Liked Andros with Ashley also but the show never really went anywhere with it just as even Kimberly and Tommy never really went anywhere. I guess it was due to the target audience being mostly Boys who were more interested in just seeing the Power Rangers save the day and look cool in each episode.

Maybe if the Show moved its time slot to a later time and had better writers similar to shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Smallville had we might have gotten more stuff for the teenage fans.
