Please forgive my apparent ignorance, but...

...in the first episode, during the "New Nine" segment in the Corral Room, Frank Borman asks Neil Armstrong if he'd vote for John Glenn for President. And Neil responds with, "Glenn for President, huh? Well that'd depend. Who'd be running for King?" Then they all chuckle a little. Can anyone enlighten me as to the meaning of Armstrong's answer to Borman's question?

I think he was just suggesting that his ambition was such that Glenn wouldn't be satisfied until he was Emperor of the Universe.

Ah, okay! That makes sense. Thanks for the help!! :-)

Also it was an obvious not to Glenn's running for the Democratic party's nomination for the 1984 Presidential elections; another character in the miniseries, Sen. Walter Mondale, actually got the nomination, but lost royally to the incumbent President, Ronald Reagan.

Thank you! :)
