Woody is out

he was funny in the 70s when the intellectual neurotic could pass as a type.... but the last couple of decades, it so old as to be annoying... it doesn't fly anymore...

Celebrity is an interesting premise... but making it yet another movie about Woody's insecurities ... well... I think we know everything about him we care to....

Actually, I think he could have gotten away with "yet another movie about Woody's insecurities" if he had been the one playing the main character instead of KB. I find this guy a bit annoying doing the Woody-schtick and find it impossible to believe that so many gorgeous women would be so wanting to screw him. Every time he turns around, some chick wants him. It's unbelievable. When Woody does it, it's somehow believable maybe because he has this nerdy sweetness that would attract all kinds of women but KB just doesn't got it.

Do ya love him Loretta?
Ah Ma I love im awful.
Oh God, you poor thing.

Just saw KB on "Wallander". Good stuff. I really like British mystery shows.

I predict he'll still be making great films into the 2020s.

At this point, I don't know. COVID shut everyone down, #metoo targeted him so even though things are opening up, I don't think he'll be back. I haven't seen Rifkin's Festival (I want to), and maybe it is great, but if it is, I don't know yet.

It's really sad, too, because he's a hyper-talented filmmaker and it's sad to think that we're probably going to miss out on some great work.

That would depend on whether anyone will fund his films, and frankly, the finances of his late career have been a huge mystery to me. None of his films are big budget, but none of his films are ever hits, or are of interest to the mainstream. How does he keep attracting millions from investors?

John Waters stopped making movies because nobody would give him the kind of financing he wanted, it happens.
