Fabulous filmmaking...reminds me of Magnolia

Dont be fooled by the plot synopsis as I was. This is not simply some thriller about a car accident and the fathers search for whom he believe to be the culprit, this film is so much more. It is more akin to PTAs 1999 film Magnolia. It is a story about multiple characters and their lives intersecting and the consequences of those intersections. And although Magnolia was a more defined story (the strange and unusual happen all the time) and caricaturized characters this film is equally effective in a more grounded, reserved and naturally paced fashion. Tykwer masterfully handles all of the characters, threads and intersections as well as delivering his trademark moving camerawork and creative editing.

You know if you like these type of ensemble character based films then you should probably like this too. Its not about karate fights, explosions, car chases and over the top action but about ordinarily flawed people.
