Tom Wilkinson's great performance

I first became aware of Tom Wilkinson watching him as Queensberry in this film. He was completely believable and frightening as this vile, brutal man. I was somewhat surprised to learn that Queensberry was every bit as horrible as depicted in the movie. That Wilkinson was given no recognition in the form of award nominations is to me inexplicable.

Tom Wilkinson is great. He can be equally effective in both supporting & leading roles. The whole cast was excellent and deserving of at least some awards attention.

He was magnificent and terrifying.

It was interesting seeing Tom Wilkinson and Jude Law playing the same character (older and younger versions) in The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Indeed, Tom Wilkinson forever immortalised the dastardly Marquess. I doubt anyone can ever top it. Too bad he couldn't had more screen time.

He went on to play the charming Tuppy in A Good Woman, which was one of Wilde's creations. I don't think it was a coincidence that he was in both films.
