Unlisted song! Does anyone recognize the opening track?

I absolutely cannot figure out what the first song that is played in Welcome to Sarejevo is. It starts at 2 minutes 7 seconds into the film (via Netflix streaming, anyway) and stops after the power goes out in the salon around 3 minutes and 12 seconds.

I've scoured the internet, and even tried to sound out the spoken lyrics, but no luck thus far. If anyone can solve the mystery, +100 points.

Semi-accurate spoken lyrics:
"i have been seeing things i believe in them i try
this skin these bones they leak and you lie
this will not be our run
and i know i'm right
this is my everything
this is my
yeah you said you need someone
i said you might
you said you loved someone
i said you tried
you said I'm done
i think you lied
i said you need someone"

I don't know about the Netflix version, but when Welcome To Sarajevo was first released in theaters, the song that underscored the opening titles, the beauty salon sequence and the murder of the bride's mother was "The Way Young Lovers Do" by Van Morrison. It's the same on the DVD.

Here's the YouTube clip of the scene you've described; once again, the song heard on the soundtrack is "The Way Young Lovers Do" -

That is bizarre! Thanks so much for the reply - this explains my confusion with the listed songs in the credits vs. what I am hearing.

The clip you sent me with the Van Morrison track was the exact same footage/scene in the opening of the movie, but it definitely isn't the same music that plays in the Netflix version. Perhaps it was changed for some legal reason (especially if the DVD isn't different either).

Here's an audio recording of the song I am hearing during the opening credits:

Very strange - especially when you consider "The Way Young Lovers Do" also appeared on the film's soundtrack CD. If they were able to use it for the movie's theatrical, CD and DVD releases, I can't understand why it wasn't used in the streaming Netflix version.

It's a particular shame because the song you linked doesn't work half as well; it doesn't have the energy or momentum of the Van Morrison song.

If you want to see how much better the entire opening sequence works with "The Way Young Lovers Do," click on this link -

(But hurry; these things don't stay posted forever.)
