Wouldn't you be expelled for tackling a prof?

Nothing happened, which is so not realistic.

As opposed to the rest of the film, which is completely realistic?

Col. Sanders had it coming. I don't buy the hypothalamus theory of alligator aggression. They have a lot of teeth, but no toothbrush – who wouldn't be angry?

There was nothing realistic about the entire movie, nor was it intended to be realistic. It was intended as a mindless comedy and we're to suspend reality for the duration of the movie. Then we can enjoy it for how it's intended...for fun and laughs. Sandler, Bates, and wonderful supporting cast delivered on it quite nicely.

BTW, some of these so-called "serious" movies lack reality also but the elitist reviewers seem to be oblivious to that.

saying is that the film was based upon having a good time watching it. Not taking it serious at all!

Yeah but if you are the star player at a podunk school in Louisiana(which I'm a resident) I'm pretty sure they would let it slide.

True ramaham7, not just in Louisiana either. Most major programs have allowed worse behavior than that.

You are not suppose to think realistically on what would happen in real life. It was a movie to make you laugh and have a great time!

Well it was both realistic and unrealistic.

Real - Bobby was known by many to be exceptionally slow. They would take this into consideration, the professor was being an ass, so they would ignore the fact that bobby would beat him up because if they expelled him. The team would also have no chance of winning if Bobby was kicked out, so they would also favor him in most situations. Special needs people can't be handled like normal people, in either case what the professor did was not acceptable.

Unrealistic - I could see him getting a suspension to miss a game. Since there were no signs of recourse, that does seem a bit unrealistic, even for a special needs student.

Overall? This is a comedy. Its a combination of realistic and unrealistic things. A solid example is that no matter how enraged bobby gets, the larger football players would not get tackled. The size and muscle difference will always play a critical roll in football. Then again the underdog story of someone who was ignored becoming an mvp. Its unlikely but possible.
