Russian Dance Scene

The scene of the Russian dance - where Wallace is dancing and throwing the Russian doll around - reminds me of a very similar scene in another film, but I can't remember which one. I thought it might be a Peter Sellers film, but can't find one with such a scene. The other film even had someone trying to shoot the comic 'spy' (or detective?) with a poison arrow, and hitting different people. Does anyone else remember a film with a similar climactic scene?

I can't name any titles off the top of my head, but during my first viewing of this film last night, I was definitely thinking that it had a few parts Pink Panther mixed in. There is definitely some bomb tossing in PP films, and the scene where the cops are chasing the mini at a round-about are definitely like some Peter Seller film.

Murray wasn't playing the bumbling detective that Sellers did, but he certainly was playing the comedic clueless, right up to the end. You can't help but see some parallels.

Hey_stella_stella, the movie you're describing sounds a lot like A Shot in the Dark (1964), which was the second Pink Panther/Inspector Clouseau movie. In the movie, Clouseau is being stalked by a mysterious assassin who shoots a dart at him at one point, killing an innocent person. At another place, there is a Russian dancer who has the big, furry hat just like Bill Murray wore in the dance with the Russian stacking dolls. The people would do a dance/twirl like the professional dancer, then they'd have to take a drink out of a glass. The mystery killer spikes the drink with poison just as Clouseau does his dance, but the inept Clouseau rips his pants as he goes into a squat, and his girlfriend covers him up and leads him off the floor. The professional Russian dancer shrugs and drinks the poison and twirls and twirls, finishes the dance with a big smile and suddenly goes stiff and keels over from the poison. It goes on like that all night as Clouseau and his girl go from club to club. Great stuff.

This movie owes alot to Jacques Clouseau

It could also be the scene from European Vacation with Chevy Chase where he dances Bavarian style. Can't remember if anyone is after him, but I remember it's hilarious.
