I'm just wondering. I didn't think Kangaroos had any significance in Chinese culture, so why are they used to symbolize the five elements of nature?

I think their kangarooish jumping abilities are supposed to make them seem more martial-arty. You jump around a lot in karate, right? Never mind the fact that real kangaroos jump like they're in a sack race, not a karate tournament. But who cares about realism? Kangaroos jump, and karate masters jump, so.....karate kangaroos. Why not? It works with turtles.
