WHAT IF THE RAID NEVER HAPPENED?

I think there are some intelligent and reasonable people that post on this message board about the topic of Waco. Hopefully some of you will offer your thoughts on my question.

But first, I wanted to say that after everything that has been presented to us about Waco, neither side is the ultimate "good guy". Practically everyone, and every entity, was, to be blunt, "the bad guy."

This fact alone I think is what fascinates me most about the entire situation.

And it is equally fascinating to see people argue over who is to blame for it all. I honestly can't see one party being more responsible for the catastrophe than the other.

Koresh wanted the apocalypse, and the ATF and FBI delivered.

And so to explore the discussion in a different manner (although I suspect it has been discussed - I just haven't seen it) I wonder what would have happened if the ATF, or local sheriff, or whoever did what so many believe should have happened - that Koresh should have peacefully been brought in for questioning while he went for his jog.

What would the likely chain of events have been? Koresh is brough in. Questioned about his relationships with underage children. Questioned about his aquisition and ownership of certain firearms and ammunition. And then what? Would he ask for an attorney? What if law enforcement then peacefully executed a calm search through the Mt. Carmel compound? What then? Is Koresh placed under arrest? Are all the children taken away? Are other members detained?

My guess is that Koresh knew that this might have been a possible reality, eventually. He probably always thought this might happen, way before the day of the raid. But his ego and status as a supreme religious leader would NEVER allow this to happen. For the law of MAN to in come and disrupt his specific situation would be the worst possible thing to happen.

Instead, he got exactly what he wanted. Lucky for him, it just so happened that the ATF also had certain things it wanted, in order to satisfy its own ego as a supreme organization of law enforcement, which the FBI then followed though with.

But even if the peaceful apprehension of Koresh had occurred, he would have made sure that his prophecy would have been fulfilled. He would not go quietly.

Does anyone believe otherwise?

Yes. If the raid did NOT happen 76 people would not have been killed. This was "revenge" by an out of control Democrat controlled Federal Government for the deaths of four ATF agents.
