Ambient heat

Apparently the producers of this film never heard of it. The seem to think that heat doesn't travel through air. That heat is only transferred by touch. So if you're 2 feet away from thousand-degree lava, but not touching it directly, you'd be fine.

That's really not true.

Apparently you don't fully understand how to use the word ambient properly. I think you were looking for "Radiated Heat" or "Ambient Temperature".

Dude it's a movie, if you apply real world physics and science there are several scenes that could never happen in real life. Don't try to analyze the science behind what happens.
