Better than you expect

Okay, it's a B movie and it has B movie acting and B movie production values. But there's just something about this little movie that I like! The whole is somehow greater than the sum of the parts...

Favourite moment - when Stokes passes time alone on the ship by playing silly games and dancing in his underwear. It's exactly the kind of silly nonsense you *would* do when you can be absolutely certain that nobody is going to walk in on you!

Plus, of course, this is a chance to see the beautiful and talented Jorja Fox in her pre-CSI days. It's worth a watch for that alone!

Not a good movie, but sometimes a bad movie is like fast food, it fills a spot, puls it has my fave girl Jorja Fox, so all in all a not bad night in with the Sci.Fi Channel, UK that is.

Good analogy!

I can dig it. You hit the nail on the head when you said that it's greater than the sum of it's parts.

I can't place my finger on it either, but it's not quite B and not quite A - somewhat in-between. The story actually moves along pretty good and doesn't really drag. There's some nice little twists. Oliver Gruner has a good stage presence - and the chemistry between him and Alicia Coppola seems good and moves things along. All-in-all it's an enjoyable film.

Not a bad bit of goods.

The Visual Effects were very competently imaged and realized, however, they kind of outstripped the sets. Though they were pretty good, it was obvious that the designer and crew had a very limited budget to work with. Still, the they were as good as anyone could expect. No wobble.

The action was good as well as was the acting.

And I suppose now, in the era of the Bitcoin, the idea of transporting a load o' cash doesn't make any sense. But that's OK. The Macguffin lives on.

Velocity Trap (what?) is better than most SyFy Channel "originals".

Nifty little movie.

Yes the beginning of this film before the ship takes off is some of the worst dreck I've ever seen but once they are in space this film vastly improves. Love the sequence of Stokes being stuck awake while everyone else is in hypersleep.
