How Clark should have gambled

Here is how Clark should have gambled. When they first walked into the casino, he did use a slot machine and did a 5 dollar won and won 10 with a 5 dollar profit.

His big mistake was this. That is A: Betting way way way over his head. Signs on Casinos say bet with your head not way over it and don't ever bet all you have and lose it all. That can happen like in the movie Lost In America where the wife bet all of the nest egg savings on a Roulette Number 22. B: Betting on only Blackjack over 22 grand then losing it all including some he cash advanced with credit cards from ATM's. C: Staying at that same blackjack table with wise guy Marty when in the city of Las Vegas there were many other casinos with many other blackjack tables.

Now me I never do blackjack I only do slots and I only do penny nickel and quarter slots and I after putting in 1's and 5's and 10's and sometimes 20's keep what I win when I get the tickets out before redeeming them. Clark should have just had fun betting only on slots not that crazy blackjack.

He was just unrealistically lucky that the dying man played by Sid Ceaser that was lonely all his life without family and friends and a relationship told him to take the ticket when he was dying. He was lucky to win 30 grand but he has to pay 7 grand in taxes at tax time of course plus he was also lucky on Rusty winning those 4 cars to and yes he did cash in the return trip airplane tickets and yes the family has 5 cars, 3 family cars and one for Audrey and Rusty however at a later date Clark has to pay the sales tax on those 4 cars too but he still has his food additives executive job back in Chicago and Ellen has her job and yes Rusty and Audrey are on their way to college and Rusty has a part time job at a supermarket anyway.

The thing about this is that Marty was riling him and pushing his buttons, and to Clark it became more about beating Marty than winning money.

Notice the scene where he is actually having luck with the Female Dealer. but when she pulls away and Marty takes over, notice how everybody else at the table leaves!

Basically, Clark went from "Funny" Stupid to just plain stupid. what he really should have done is take up marty's offer to go out back and duke it out.

I think what's being lost on everyone is that this was only a movie.

Now, as for the person who said that they play penny slots, please tell me that you don't play max bets because if you do I have one word for you...Sucker! Penny slots are the biggest scam going. You put in $20(2000 credits...notice it says credits) then if you play max it usually 300 which is $3. You'd be better off playing dollar slots.

To the OP: Dude, have you ever heard of punctuation? I had a hard time getting your point with all that rambling. Commas and periods are your friends. Please, feel free to use them.

Or play whatever game you want but set a limit for your self. Go in with a set amount and if you lose, time to stop.

Let me guess, you don't really enjoy too many movies do you?

Realistically, black jack is a good game to play in terms of the odds not being in too much favor of the house. But you can also lose quickly. This of course happened to Clark. Other good games with good odds are video poker (when playing it correctly), and craps. If one plays craps betting the pass line and backing up your bet, that there is the best odds in the casino.

games with low house odds are: roulette (I play this a lot though), slots, 3 card poker, and keno. Keno is probably the worse

the way they portray keno in this movie would be the worst gambling game in history:

10 numbers picked, 10 numbers drawn, out of a pool of 80.

Consider the lotteries, where you only have to pick 6 numbers for 6 numbers drawn (out of a pool of around 50), yet the odds of hitting the jackpot are around 1 in 750 million.

With 10 numbers out of 80, the odds are astronomically worse, for a measly 15,000 to 1 payout. (1:1,646,492,110,120.0, to be exact)

Keno as it is in reality, where 20 numbers are drawn is a little more reasonable.

I'd still prefer playing the Lottery over Keno, though.

Slots are the most disgusting thing in casinos imo. Completely take away the social aspect of gambling, and they are just tedious.

And if we are talking best game to play for odds, its Baccarat.
