How Clark should have gambled
Here is how Clark should have gambled. When they first walked into the casino, he did use a slot machine and did a 5 dollar won and won 10 with a 5 dollar profit.
His big mistake was this. That is A: Betting way way way over his head. Signs on Casinos say bet with your head not way over it and don't ever bet all you have and lose it all. That can happen like in the movie Lost In America where the wife bet all of the nest egg savings on a Roulette Number 22. B: Betting on only Blackjack over 22 grand then losing it all including some he cash advanced with credit cards from ATM's. C: Staying at that same blackjack table with wise guy Marty when in the city of Las Vegas there were many other casinos with many other blackjack tables.
Now me I never do blackjack I only do slots and I only do penny nickel and quarter slots and I after putting in 1's and 5's and 10's and sometimes 20's keep what I win when I get the tickets out before redeeming them. Clark should have just had fun betting only on slots not that crazy blackjack.
He was just unrealistically lucky that the dying man played by Sid Ceaser that was lonely all his life without family and friends and a relationship told him to take the ticket when he was dying. He was lucky to win 30 grand but he has to pay 7 grand in taxes at tax time of course plus he was also lucky on Rusty winning those 4 cars to and yes he did cash in the return trip airplane tickets and yes the family has 5 cars, 3 family cars and one for Audrey and Rusty however at a later date Clark has to pay the sales tax on those 4 cars too but he still has his food additives executive job back in Chicago and Ellen has her job and yes Rusty and Audrey are on their way to college and Rusty has a part time job at a supermarket anyway.
