A new Vacation this year would actually make sense

I guess the Ed Helms "New Vacation" movie has been "delayed indefinitely", and I'm not too keen on the idea anyway. But it really makes sense to release another Vacation movie in 2013. Look at the pattern of the films:

Vacation (1983)
*2 year gap*
European Vacation (1985)
*4 year gap*
Christmas Vacation (1989)
*8 year gap*
Vegas Vacation (1997)
*16 year gap*
New Vacation (2013)

Haha, it's a shame they missed the opportunity! Well, maybe there is a pattern even if they release new Vacation in 2015 ;)

It might have been for the best, because if they had stuck with the pattern, Ed Helms' Vacation would have been released in 2013, and then there would be a 32 year gap, followed by a new Vacation movie in 2045. ;-)

Although it sucked beyond comprehension, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2" would throw a monkey wrench in the timeline.

if it was any good they'd have made an American version by now - Hank Hill

Let's just be glad that there's a new "Vacation" film released this year i.e. 2015....and let's just HOPE it lives up to the original series/franchise!! Fingers-crossed!!

They need a new version of "Holiday Road" to play over the end credits... something like this would be perfect:
