HILARIOUS!

I watched this film with my friend Andy and we laughed our asses all the way through it. For one we couldn't understand a word the actors were saying, their accents to thick. Second, we had no idea what was going on. Anyways, it was a good movie...but not scary because we laughed. It is worth watching to hear a hobbit say the F word several times hehe.

I'm guessing by your general ignorance that you might be an American?

That's just a wee bit cheeky. I'll take a wild guess and say you're American? Personally, I find many American accents in films difficult to understand, but I'm generally too polite to "laugh my ass off". We have this radical concept here in Scotland, it's called 'manners'. As in, we mind them.

Ps. If you found THIS difficult to understand, I'd recommend you steer well clear of Lynne Ramsay's 'Ratcatcher'.

Can you tell me which American accents you find particularly difficult? I'm quite curious, as I find accents a fascinating subject.

I ask mainly as you say "many" and most people from the UK don't seem to have an issue with what is usually called General American English, used by probably 95% of American film characters. Maybe the regional accents of the East Coast (Boston, New York, New Jersey, etc)?

Typical American!! They just are too damn lazy to try and understand an accent other than their own!!
