Question about ending

My VCR cut off the last part, so can someone please tell me how the movie ended? Last thing I saw was when Ulee, Helen and the girls visit Jimmy in prison and Jimmy says to Casey her boyfriend'd better be good to her because he (Jimmy) will get out of prison next year.

I'm guessing I didn't miss much, but still I'd like to know...

Beautiful movie BTW. And underrated. I had never even heard of it until it was on tv last week and was very pleasantly surprised.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us

That's about it. There's a final scene in Ulee's garage where he asks Connie to stay for supper. Low-key, but clearly he's starting to come alive again.

I thought sure Ulee was going to sic the bees on Eddie and Ferris. I guess the actual climax was more realistic, but I missed the bee attack.

Great movie. I thought it was going to be a sappy "chick flick," but it wasn't.

Excellent film with fine performances, including the Best Actor nominee Peter Fonda. The final scene in the garage shows Ulee giving Connie a jar of honey and thanking her for all she's done.

The fact that he did ask her to stay for supper and Connie opens up a discussion about honey as they walk into his house, lead me to believe that there is a future together for both of them.

reply

Connie was quite clear early in the film that she wanted a relationship, but she knew better than to start one with Ulee at that time because he was so self-dependent and didn't want to accept help. By the end of the film, Ulee had changed in that regard, so we can assume they did indeed have a future together.

reply

Yeah, the final scene definitely points in the direction of Ulee and Connie becoming more than friends in the future.

reply

How can someone "sic" bees on another person? They're not like dogs.

reply

Also, bees are dormant at night.
