Why was she an extra? Maybe she saw the script and HAD to be in it?

probably because at the time she was dating joaquin phoenix and so was on set to visit him and oliver stone thought she had to be in the movie, he likes casting beautiful women.

ahh. yeah it was a little weird to see that. I was waiting for her to get atleast one good line. She was probably just there and got thrown in.
