Key to watching this movie

I was a teenee kid when this came out in 97 but I've been a fan of Lauren Holly's since I saw her in NCIS. She was pretty cool there as Jenny Shepard (before they fracked up the character with that stupid Frog arch) so when I saw there were links available to this film...I thought, why not?

And yes, I saw the reviews. Well, bad movies will always be around and I like Lauren Holly enough so I went with it. I never care for critics anyway...especially ones posted in the 'Reviews' section for users here. Please. Usually it's just a bunch of bitter souls, misogynists, pissed off 'fans' and such. So much hate for so little things.

So, Turbulence.
Okay, plot-wise? Absurd. The whole story? Very Hollywood so that means--unbelievable. The acting was fun AND funny--Ray Liotta not holding anything back as the nutso who likes to sing Buffalo Gals and run amuck in a 747 and Lauren Holly who, let's admit, was NOT made for the damsel in distress role and even I can admit it that even as a big fan of hers (evidence: they had to dub the screaming woman part when the plane starts turning over, no way was that Lauren's voice, I say!) because she really fits more the kickass-female role that the character later takes on but even then Teri still retains that 'good girl' persona post-execution of Weaver. Lauren's one of those actresses who was NOT meant to scream in terror. They're meant to be the ones to shut up the OTHER females screaming in terror and kick the ass of whatever was making them scream.

But I digress.

The key to watching this film? Stop dissecting it and just sit back. Especially viewers of this millennium because, god, this was 1997! They're better at creating badass female characters these days in both film and TV.

Mindless movies were made so you can just stay for an hour or two without stressing out. I watch films to relax and no, I don't stress about what was wrong or not. It's a movie. There will be mistakes, there will be crap acting, there will be factual errors. You cannot control it, you cannot change it and no matter how much you yell at the characters please remember:

They cannot hear you or change the course of the film. It's been cut, edited and put together in a box. Too late for your input.

I liked the movie...I laughed A LOT. It was hilarious and Lauren Holly was lovely pre-psycho wrestling. And Ray Liotta cracked me up.

It's a movie, people, just sit back and watch. Works for me. I feel relaxed now and I can go back to my schoolwork. Nothing like a good laugh, yes?
