I am depressed...I watched this when I was little but I had no idea what it was about but it got me sad and I had no idea why. I watched it again and I just feel depressed ? It's like I felt it was real and I just want to stop thinking about it. I will not watch it again even tho It is a good movie. I am convinced It *beep* with your subconscious mind.
It depends what kind of mindset you have on life. You seem to have a defeatist, negative outlook on life so naturally this movie is going to make you uncomfortable and upset.

I said I watched it when I was a kid and had no idea why it made me depressed since i should not have know what it really means. And now looking at it again I see truman as innocent but because he breaks free, he will face the ups and downs of life, like depression, sadness, anger, betrayal, affairs, drama etc. I actually like a good life. Maybe your life is messed up, which is why you are deflecting and telling others their life is messed up.

shareHey it's okay. I know the horrible darkness of depression and I seriously don't wish it on my worst enemies. No human should suffer through that. I advice you to get help, altough this might be very hard to do. It's not weird or shameful to get help for mental issues, especially not in the western soceity. Ever since I got on anti depressants I am feeling so much better. Take care girl and take my word that whatever you are feeling isn't an accurate perception of yourself.

shareI had no interest in seeing this a 2nd time. One of those well done films that was depressing - but without anything to learn from it, like a war film or tragic real story that happened or could happen. But this is so unreal my feeling is Why get sad about a fantasy movie? That's my take.
