Plot Hole? Something that's been bothering me...

So, I pretty much watch every Toy Story every day because my daughter loves them. That means, I have each and every detail ingrained in my mind - I must say that one thing in particular irks me:

When Andy's mom takes Woody from Al and locks him in the cash box ---- how does she not know Woody has been stolen? Obviously she's going to see the box was broken into and Woody is gone. You would think that she notices this if not within minutes, at least when the yard sale is over and she's putting everything away. The cash box is usually the first thing you would take inside. Why is she not the least bit surprised to see Woody after Andy's returns from camp? She's got to know SHE didn't bring Woody back into Andy's room and replace him on the shelf.

I've looked online to see if this possible "plot hole" bothers anyone else and I only found one blog about it. It was kind of poorly explained away and dismissed...( the writer said we don't know that Andy's mom wasn't frantically looking for Woody. When he turned back up she could have just assumed Andy found him somewhere in the house, simply misplaced after the yard sale incident.) Meh.

Maybe she was high.

Either she forgot about it or thought Andy got into it to find Woody.

I always assumed she wasn't paying that much attention to where she put him. She tossed him somewhere safe-ish, then immediately went off to handle her yardsale. Meanwhile, she's dealing with a dog and an infant (which is what Al uses to distract her), so she probably forgot she put him in there. If Andy had come home and couldn't find him, he probably would've asked her where he went, and then she'd be like, "Oh, right, I put him in the cash box." It's easy for parents to forget about these little things because they have so much to do.
