Am I alone in thinking the Brosnan movies are better than..

..Diamonds Are Forever, most of Moore's movies, and the Living Daylights? People are so down on the Brosnan era but I feel like it did away with enough of the cheese of the 70s and 80s entries while retaining most of the classic Bond tropes and larger than life style. It's as if people have to have it one way or another, there can never be a happy medium. Even Brosnan is despised by some for being an amalgam of all the best traits of the Bonds before him. The playful, bad boy attitude of Connery, the humor of Moore, the cold-blooded vengefulness of Dalton, and the heart of Lazenby.

This of course is excluding Die Another Day.

Of all the Broz Bond flicks, GOLDENEYE is the only one I care a good bit for. It actually rests comfortably in my top 10. The other three range from #18 to #23 (TND #18, TWINE #20, DAD #23).

I like the Brosnan bond films
Finally a lack of bimbos swooning "oh james"
Instead we have some beautiful ladies who.are smart and extremely capable
I shudder when I think of Goodnight in the golden gun plus others who are supposed to backup Bond and are as stupid as the day is long

I love Pierce and I think he did some great contributions to the franchise, but don't you think the bimbos era finished with Timothy Dalton?

Actually the only bimbos era was with Roger Moore with Solitaire.
The strong Bond girls officially started with Timothy Dalton but in the whole Bond history we had some very strong Bond Girls like Honey Ryder, Tatiana and Agent xxx in The spy who loved me.

Actually I'd say Pierce's greatest contribution to this franchise is how he managed to play a sexy and sophisticated womanizer with humor without making his films way too campy.

Sure die another day was still over the top but never lost the stylish Bond touch. Actually I'd say die another day was one of the most glamorous Bond flicks

And one more thing on a very personal opinion Pierce was the sexiest so for that reason he was the most believable that sooner or latter every Bond girl would sleep with him and fall for his charms

This movie has been heavy handed with the cheeky comments about "pumping her for info". Each time three is a female character on camera by the thirty minute mark is a innuendo.

Smart girls, no oohs or ahhs. Just cheap jokes.

After Connery, Brosnan is my favorite Bond... there was action and humor... never as goofy as the Moore era (only in Die Another Day did they really went overboard), also he wasn't as serious as Dalton.

To this day I am still a bit sad that he wasn't able to leave the franchise in a better entry than Die Another Day... it certainly would have been amazing to see him reunite with Martin Campbell for Casino Royale or for them to have made the period piece R rated version that Tarantino proposed as a sendoff.

Personally, Brosnan first three Bond films rank in my top 7 - TND tops my ranking, GE is my third favourite and TWINE comes in at #7. And yes, I do prefer them over DAF most of Moores (FYEO and AVTAK could challenge their spots in my ranking) and TLD, but only barely, as I'm a big fan of Dalton's debut. I even prefer Brosnan first three efforts over Craig's first three Bond films. SF is at my number #8 spot but CR and QOS are pretty close to the bottom.

One thing about Brosnan's outings is that they all have a really good modern pace to them and don't really outstay their welcome. Most of the Bond movies of the 1960s and 70s really have a problem with sluggish pacing and just going on too long. Ironically now the Craig movies are really outstaying their welcome and pushing 2 1/2 hour run times. Brosnan's are all nicely paced at around 2 hours and something is always happening.

I'm glad others have noticed that his entries still had some humor in them, but Brosnan could also be dead serious and lethal (Elektra King, anyone?). While Brosnan cut some one liners it's not like he was doing Tarzan yells or skiing to the Beach Boys.

Well frankly i like most of the bond films up until Craig took over. I think the early sean connery movies were better. But i don't get the hate for Brosnan. When the guy who currently own the role lacks so much to be desired. You know like a personality.

I think each bond actor brought their in uniqueness to the role. Daniel Craig is more grounded and realistic like Timothy Dalton BoND was. I think pierce did a decent job with the role. Roger Moore bond was a ladies man but lighter in tone to the point of comical.

I prefer the 007 Brosnan films over Diamonds Are Forever and most of the movies with Moore. I found Moore's Bond too campy. Live and Let Die was good, but the rest of Moore's era went downhill for me.

If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now.-Loki (Marvel's Avengers)
