LA Confidential should have won Best Picture instead of Titanic.

yes this movie was trash. LA Confidential was a classic i love that movie as well and watch it from time to time. havent watched Titanic since i was a kid and even then i would only watch the 3rd vhs tape for the sinking part never the first two cassettes of the movie because they were so lame lol

It should definitely have won, but you had the same 2,000 lovelorn women who each watched Titanic a million times who artificially inflated the love/death boat’s popularity and box office, and are still not married to this day.

This thing was a soap opera. LA Confidential was a rich movie.

There were probably a lot of movies that were more deserving than Titanic. It was a fine movie, but not the best of the year, I'm certain. And LA Confidential was one of the better ones that year. Jackie Brown, Boogie Nights, Men In Black were all better than Titanic.
