Remake is coming

as the article says the only reason to make this would be the IP of the Cameron 'Titanic' brand - with all the characters unique to the film Jack Rose etc recast and updated FX etc..as another Titanic movie with a bunch of other characters would be totally worthless in the eyes of the moviegoers and teens/20 somethings brought up on the 97 movie....unless they made a 'side-quel' set during the actual 97 movie with other characters who'd occasionally bump into the original movie characters (via CGI deaging)? idk if that would work

wonder who'd they get?: (i think it would attract a few A listers whod want to be involved and a bunch of Downton Abbey actors. Jack and Rose should be in their 20s but maybe theyd go abit older?)

Director: would have to be someone not too famous (who wouldnt want to do it anyway) who's already done historical movies and big FX stuff and wanted that big blockbuster break and who dosnt care about going to be compared to Cameron and who wouldnt rock the boat and go all nuts wanting to put their own stamp on it and would deliver a solid remake with minimum of fuss .. maybe someone like James Grey (Ad Astra)

Song/Score: same 'My heart will go on' but probably from a new singer like Adele etc (score would be someone like Giacchino using some of the Horner stuff but obviously adding some new themes)
