I always win Jack! One way or another!!

Cal was so ignorant considering he really didn't win anything lol.

- His "arrangement" to buy a seat on the lifeboat failed when the crew member tossed the money back and said "your money can't save you anymore than it could save me"!

-He ONLY survived by using the crying girl and passing her off as his child.

He's talking about winning Rose back over Jack. It does makes me wonder if he thought Jack would die simply by leaving him on the ship, or if he was actually going to kill him. You do make an interesting point about Cal having his arrangement rejected by Murdoch. I don't even see why he bothered to make that deal if Murdoch was already letting men off.

But he never won Rose over Jack. And I'm pretty sure that even if Rose DID get on the boat with her mother, it would only be a matter of time before she ran away anyway to escape the misery she would have faced by marrying Cal.

Can't believe this garbage film is still the subject of obsession.

reply

It is not garbage.

reply

It is.

reply

You're garbage, pal.

With all the money it made, all the Oscars it won, the positive reviews, and it standing the test of time, perhaps you are the one, though an opinion, that is wrong.

I ranked it as my 10th best movie of all time:

1) The Empire Strikes Back
2) The Godfather Part II
3) Pulp Fiction
4) Apocalypse Now
5) The Dark Knight Rises
6) Raiders Of The Lost Ark
7) Platoon
8) One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
9) Interstellar
10) Titanic

That scene was so sad because it was pretty much the point where Jack accepted he and hundreds of others weren't going to get off the ship.
