movie help please
I know this is an off topic but first I will say I loved this movie I saw it in my college class! It was great to have exposure and learn about Native American culture!
Ok when I was a young kid I saw this awsome movie with Native Americans. They spoke in their own language so it had captions in english. It was about a man searching for his long lost twin son named Cheyenne. I didn't know the main characters name just the long lost kids name.
This is what I remember of the movie. Two men where fighting for the hand of marriage of this chief princess I think that what she was by bringing her horses. Well the main character won her heart over by bringing her a heard of wild horses ( I take it she loved horses lol)and the other one competing had only like two horses. They marry and have twin sons. Well that arch rival who lost never got over losing... A few years later he tracks them down and slains the wife and takes the twin Cheyenne away. Well it was the fathers mission to find his son before he dies.. so he started his journey to find Cheyenne. A few years later he finds his son Cheyenne (he was like 6,7, or 8) he breaks himself in the tribe village and was able to grab the kid and flee. He told him "don't be afraid little one I am your father your name is Cheyenne". Somehow I dont remember how the father got separated from his son Cheyenne but he did and many years later past and the movie shows the dad old. The dad and his family decide to fight back against the thugs who did them wrong. They catch this young man believed to be a thug or the enemy but the now elderly father searching for his song decided not to kill the bandit. The father falls in a deep sleep so they barried him thinking he was dead in the snowy mountains. He wakes up and finds his way back to his family. Shocked they were to find him alive... later on the young bandit they caught is the long lost son Cheyenne. Cheyeanne tells his dad who he is.... so his dad finds the scar on his belly and realized it was his long lost son!!! With his mission complete he goes off high in the snowy mountains and dies... His soul is reunited w/ his wife as he is reunited w/ his wife he becomes young again around the age he was when his wife died.
GREAT STORY I can't belive I remeberd that much of that movie since I was so young when I saw it. What was the name of that movie? Dose anybody know the name or know what I am talking about? That movie got me into Native American culture I was always fascinated the Indians and proud to have Cherokee in me! :D thanks!
