I used to LOVE this movie as a kid!

I remember making my mom rent this movie everytime we went to the local movie store. I haven't seen it in years though, so I don't quite remember it. I probably wouldn't like it now from hearing all the bad reviews it's getting, but you never know. Did anyone else love this movie when they were younger? Or still do?

My movie store never had it when I was little so I had to rely on it coming on TV sometimes.

Yeah, I used to reeeeally love it. I even tried to name my cat DC but my brother wouldn't let me. I really want to see it now...

When were you a kid? Because the movie that you're posting about here was filmed 10 years ago. You may have been watching the original from 1965.

It was remade you know....I remember seeing this when I was in elementary school so I don't think the poster was talking about the 1965 version

I remember this when I was a kid. I was 9 close to 10 years old when this came out.

I was just about to reply to that other post when I saw your reply. I was thinking that it depended on when he was a kid? I haven't yet seen the 1997 version but it's on TV next week. Also, the Hayley Mills version (1965) which is on this Sunday. I haven't seen this in ages and look forward to seeing it again.

I can well imagine the 1997 version not being as funny because, presumably, they are trying to create the same funny situations and to me, this rarely works (but I stand to be corrected.

I found this with the Love Bug film/movie. True, there are some funny moments in the sequels but I much prefer the original.

I'm exactly like you.
I can't imagine how much money my mom must have spent on renting that movie over and over.
I havn't seen it in forever, but I kind of want to now.

I don't believe that anybody feels the way I feel about you now

Then you have not heard of Hayley Mills and Dean Jones, my friend!

I still love this movie simply because of Christina Ricci's wonderful performance as the snotty and nosey detective kid. I love the part where she finally gets captured by the kidnappers herself.
