That Darn Cat from 1970's or 1997?

I like both movies but which movie do you like the best?

I like the "97" the most. But both superb movies

I used to absoloutely love the 1997 version, and really wanted to get the '60's version but it was quite rare. I ordered it off Amazon, and have watched quite a lot - I think the '60's one is better because of Hayley Mills yet DC the cat is much cuter in the 1997 version.

The 1970's one, no question. I think it's miles better.

Specifically, that older one did play in 1973 in REISSUES, (Hayley Mills no longer was at Disneyt till 1980s!), BUT ORIGINALLY ran in THEATRES 1965-66!

Still good point.

As in most cases the original is always better.

The 60s version is better in this case as well.

1997 is way better than the original. No doubt about that.

Amen to that. I fell in love with the 97 movie as a kid, and I still have a soft spot for it all these years later. The scene where Christina Ricci and her cat are caught by the kidnappers and get tied up together made the whole movie for me.

As a film (like writing wise and direction wise), the original is the better but, entertainment wise, I may would lean more towards the remake - mostly because of my eternal crush on Christina Ricci, also I like movies aimed at kids with a sarcastic character who dresses in black because it matches their soul.

I liked the cats who played DC in both movies. But the human characters are much more likeable in the '60s version.
