Interesting Prop

At Sally's first lesson; she meets Pablo at the door of his apartment. He has forgotten that they agreed to meet there. He goes off camera and returns with a small bottle with a -what appears to be- metal straw protruding from it. Any ideas what the devil he is drinking?
His apartment is lived in but not furnished. Filled with boxes, a bike, cast off clothing, partly hung sheets. Typical artist/dancer abode.
My first inclination would be to put everything away and sweep it.
He takes off her coat and throws it on a pile on the floor. They both look at her coat lying on the pile on the floor. She says nothing. He takes her in his arms.

I intend to live forever. So far so good.
