Technical problem with DVD version

This is a very interesting movie which has unfortunately been ruined in the DVD version because of the perplexing and annoying persistence of the director's commentary track which plays over the entire movie. I noticed that in the setup options the director's-commentary-track option is by default set to ON when you first put the DVD in, so I changed this option to OFF. But then when the film started the director's-commentary track played anyway! So apparently there is no way to turn the commentary track off. This seems to me like it's pretty clearly a technical error on the part of the Sony Pictures people who did the DVD programming. They mistakenly set this commentary-track option to be ON all the time instead of making it a settable/resettable option as is the norm on DVDs. And then apparently they didn't test the DVD before mass-producing it because many other viewers of this DVD have also complained about not being to turn off the commentary track. I have sent a message of complaint about this to Sony Picture Home Entertainment but I haven't heard any response from them. It's a real shame that Sony has screwed up this otherwise very interesting film with this unfortunate technical mistake.
