a little more believable than the first movie, but still not good

i don't like The Swan Princess 1. yea, i'm saying it: i never liked it, i still don't and i doubt i ever will like it. the movie did have potential - i'll give it that - but all that potential was wasted by a bad script, sloppy pacing and unlikable/uninteresting characters. and as a whole, the movie was just plain boring! i never saw what's so good about that movie, cause i can barely find anything good, aside from the animation, voice acting (most of it) and music.
now, i'm most definitely sure that some pissed-off fans are gonna jump my ass when i say this, but i'm gonna say it: The Swan Princess 2 - though still not good - was a little better than the first movie and that leads me to say it's the best of the franchise (in my eyes). i'm saying that cause this movie looked like it had a slightly better script than the first one and Derek and Odette - while still bland as hell - were a little more believable here. they actually showed to be a loving couple in this movie and Derek did show that he loves Odette for who she is, not just cause she's beautiful. god damn it, whenever i think about that scene in the first movie, i couldn't help but facepalm at how idiotic it was. hell, even the side characters weren't that annoying here, at a few scenes i was actually routing for these characters. i never thought that would've happened, but it did and i was surprised. not to mention this one had more laughs than the first movie. but even though it was a little better than the original, a lotta problems are still there. characters are still bland, it had the boring plot back, aside from having more laughs than the first one, the comedy still was weak, the laughable melodrama's still there and this one didn't have much a climax

Overall, even though i call The Swan Princess 2 the best movie of the franchise doesn't excuse it for being not good.
