Does Ira get a pass?

Hey, I just finished watching the movie for about the 100th time and even though they cut Charlie's finger off, the movie didn't truly take a dark tone until Charlie and Lono started "cleaning up." With that being said, I'm wondering if Ira was spared or if everyone was just exterminated. "Ira, you are the man" is something that Charlie told Ira at least 3 times. So, I'm really wondering. Was do you think Ira was granted his life?
