A few rewrites away from making this movie work

If you took away that Mickey Mantle speech and the flashback of Walken dancing in the 70's ....horrible scenes...the movie would improve dramatically, just on that. I can't put my finger on in, but the screenplay just didn't work. However, I thought the basic story was great and Denis Leary was hilarious about those "fish" boots. Shame because there was great talent and a seemingly can't miss story to work with.

Wrong, this entire movie is awesome, you are an idiot

I am quite sure this film is not entirely awesome. I can't recall a single time I was in awe during this film. It has its charm, but is far from a masterpiece and you should refrain from passing judgement on people. Especially in such a douchey way.

I disagree. In fact, I think the two scenes you wish to annex are two of the more memorable parts of the movie.

Originality needs a reboot.

I agree with you. When they show this movie on regular tv they cut out the entire part from the 70's and I miss it every time.
It's why I really only like to watch it on cable.
It's playing on Cinemax right now.

I agree. I found alot of dialogue contrived.

A hip crime drama with contrived dialogue. The hell you say! Quelle freaking surprise!

You wrote this sane post twice in 3 years. Do I expect to see this again in 2019?

reply

you have a point, those small scenes really show how green the director was about feature films
