On UK TV this week

For anyone interested, this film will be on in the UK this Wednesday, 23rd July at 3-05 pm on channel 5. I love this film and am gonna try and tape it this time around as I always seem to miss it.

I was just coming on here to advise the same thing! They seem to show it every year on Channel 5 UK - I will be definitely be taping it as it seems to mysteriously disappear everytime I do! I love Stolen Women!

I'm trying to find other films with the same plot line/setting but have only come across Dances with Wolves so far.

Hey Carys,

I think I've spoken to you before! You're as bad as I am when it comes to this film! Last two times that this film came on, I missed it. Determined to GET it this time on tape. Maybe this film is jinxed if it keeps diasappearing off your tape?! yeah, you're right about the once a year thing. I knew it would come around again soon, always comes on in summer I've noticed.

Cheers!

Yes - tameturtle. I do remember our chat about you missing the first part of the film before! I, at long last, have it taped and secured in a cupboard so that nothing can take away its existence!!!

I watched it again this morning and it just gets better and better! I found that I also liked Sarah's character more this time around; as much as she was stubborn, she was the only 'outsider' to really understand Anna. I just wish there was a sequel -I know it's based on real events, but to have another sequel.....

Carys.

Hi Carys - yeah I liked Sarah too, I was surprised at the end when she told Anna to leave her husband or she'll "die" if she stays. This film has a happy and sad ending to it - I would've have liked to see the story extended on for a while longer. I thought Janine T and Michael G (very nice looking bloke too) had a good connection in this film. BTW, Carys, what was the reception like on your TV/tape? Channel 5 where I live (Essex) is pretty bad - very grainy and never very clear to watch. Sometimes, there's a lot of buzzing and zigzaging picture distortion on it.

The reception in North Wales isn't too bad. Better on digital tv but being unable to record from that is a problem. Speaking of problems, I have AGAIN lost my recently recorded version of "Stolen Women"...I actually think there's something quite strange happening now, hence the reason it's on TV all the while. I remember seeing it on BBC1 and BBC2 in the past. Let's wait for the next showing!
