I have! I can see that it wouldn't be for everyone, but I loved it.

"Did we just blow right past the flirting portion of the evening?"

I just saw this movie and loved it!! I watched twice right in a row so I could hear the director's comments. What a great, sweet story. I loved the ending too--no sappy "running to each other and kissing" scene.

reply

it was really cute!...& the music is tight...

Vive la difference!

Ohhhh. It's just so beautiful. I keep watching it. Keep coming back to it. I just love it. It made me listen to Chopin for the first time, too. I adore "La Berceuse". I don't want to say any more, becuse it's be so easy to drift on about the acting, the themes etc. It's just beautiful.

Still Breathing is just a hauntingly beautiful movie. My all time favorite! Fletcher McBracken is my kinda man! Sensitive, strong, artistic, gorgeous! My mantra is "There are two things I always wanted to believe in....but didn't dare. One is that there is one man, somewhere, who was made just for me. The other is that I just...might, deserve him." I could watch this movie over and over and over again...and I do. The soundtrack is filled with music that takes you to another place, another dimension.

Good mantra... I think it's lovely and wonder how many of us have noded to ourselves on hearing that one.

:sigh:

In some ways I'm glad this wasn't a huge blockbusting hit (well, it certainly wasn't in England - I don't know if it was even released over here). It just wouldn't have suited the film at all....

I agree! This is our own private Brendan "indy"!!

I have watched this movie a million times but I can not locate the soundtrack!! Can anyone help me? I'll be glad to buy a copy, if anyone has it!

reply

I love this movie. I think it's because we catch a glimpse
of ourselves in the characters or because it takes us to a
time when we felt the same stomach churning emotion so well
portrayed by Ms.Going. Nothing like falling in love. :)

I love this movie too! Its just so magical & beautiful. I think every girl wishes there is this man like Brendan played, just looking for you because he dreamed about you. The chemistry was incredible too. Loooooove it!

I am surprised about how low a rating this movie received in imdb. The movie is all about art, beauty and understanding people in a fascinating manner. I adored the movie and the interaction between the characters. I bought the movie in 2000 when I saw it on TV. I am glad that I did as I have watched a number of times and always find something new in the movie each time. The writer-director has done a superb job in the movie. Granted that this movie may not appeal to everyone. A lot of pieces in the movie, starting from the music (Verdi, Chopin to original music) to the photography in LA, San Antonio, San Marcos river are very well planned. The movie has a lovely mixture of the aesthetic and the modern worlds.

Loved it too. It's such a beautiful fantasy that only one person is meant for you, so much so that they even dream of you before they meet you. Wouldn't we all love that? To be loved with such absolute certainty ...

This is what I liked best: Here's this girl who is trying to be so cool. She has become a very cynical person, and then here comes this guy who just totally unnerves her. He completely rattles her because he is sincere and honest. She doesn't know what to do with that - how to relate or respond. She thinks it's a trick.

Pretty cool trick!

I saw this movie on HBO in 2001 and absolutely fell head over heels with this little gem of a romantic tale. In this superficial and pedal to the metal kind of world, it demonstrates how the soul still desires to love and be loved. That just possibly there is someone out there who will love us for what we are and we can love them in the same manner. If you have not seen this film, que it up on Netflix as they have a great selection(no advertisement here, but blockbuster generally does not keep up with the less known films) and it will be a instant classic with you and the one you love or hope to love someday. PS the soundtrack is awesome too. Take care

I saw this film some years ago. At first, I wasn't really watching and I didn't expect anything... and then, suddenly, I was really, really watching and following. I couldn't get my eyes off the tv.

This movie had a message that I really needed at that time of my life. Call it coincidence... I'm just happy I saw this.

reply

You are wrong. This is a lovely surprise of a film. It's like coming across a pearl in an oyster.

reply

I watched it a few years ago, and still can't forget it! Very beautiful and very romantic! I remember I searched all the internet for the soundtrack, and with no success. I guess I'll resume my search now, the music was just perfect for all the scenes. Somebody was right in their comments saying this film has a quiet magic, it makes you dream and fly and feel happy. Enchanting!

reply

I too have watched this film, so, let's see...that makes almost less than a dozen people. We are a select few, but we are AWESOME!

reply

We are the few, the proud and the only ones that still believe in magic. Could have done with out the Marine Corps bit but it was the only thing I could think of. That still makes us pretty Awesome. This was a great movie.
