Verhoeven redefined the entire genre of science fiction with Starship Troopers completing his trilogy of terror.

Trilogy of terror? what were the other two?

Robocop and Total Recall.

Damn. They were all good!

I know!

He's the type of director that you want more from but know that he's better doing it at his pace because you'll only get quality results from him and they are rarer than Hollywood execs listening to film students on a new idea.

reply

Guess i gotta google him now. I don't know his latest stuff.

I came here with the intent of opening a thread, so thanks, Ben. I so agree, and in spite of the faults, the other movies with the Starship name attached for the same.

Wilson is correct, but I'm wondering what else Verhoeven has in store. He does take his good sweet time..1987 Robo Cop, 1990 Total Recall, 1992 Basic Instinct, 1997 Stormship Troopers, 2000 Hollow Man, 2006 Black Book, and 2016 Elle. I have yet to see Soldier of Orange 1977, his 2nd war film.
