This is one of the worst movies, if not THE worst movie, I have ever seen in my life!!! It was so stupid! And what the hell is a guy doing with a mechanical dick! And he says, "Whiz, whiz!" to try and arouse a girl! WTF!!!!!!

Yes, I like it. It's hilarious and if they would make a sequel (with the same actors, of course), I would watch it!

Yes, it's stupid and silly, but there are a lot of us out here who love it. There's even a "Cowboy Bebop" episode that has Space Truckers.
shareI LOVED this movie, but not everything about it. I should probably preface by letting you know that I am in fact, a working Truck Driver.
First off, any movie with Dennis Hopper is a must see just for his acting alone. I rank Dennis with the likes of Jack Nicholson, Christopher Walken and Jeff Goldblum. They all have a strangeness about them that is entertaining in it's own rite. Second, the writers captured the essence of a truckers life pretty good, solitary, fiercely independent, contempt of authority and street smarts. Yes, the plot was weak, special effects so so and I didn't think the killer cyborgs in jumpsuits were convincing, but the movie was actually making fun of itself and all the other classic B movie flicks out there. You weren't supposed to take it literally, it was camp, big dumb fun for those old enough to remember Creature Features.

Just watched this movie tonight and i cant believe such a good movie slipped by me back when it came out, theres so much to like about it its a great scifi action romp which is both action packed and really funny, i give you the films title is rediculous but if you just want a fun movie to watch thats well made and well acted then this is for you. Oh and arent those robots just so damned cool.

Even if it does have some inconsistencies with the "science" (like the vacuum stuff), it seems at least truer than other sci-fi stuff that actually tries to take itself serious, like Treasure Planet.
This is a funny movie that doesn't take itself serious, and you shouldn't actually expect anything else. It's called SPACE TRUCKERS to begin with! Though actual sci-fi has actually gone into the "Space Trucker" world every now and then, one example would be the "Z.O.E. Dolores, i" series involving "Enders" (which are basically space truckers.)
Yeah, I saw it too as a parody of sci-fi and B-movies in general, so I didn't take it too seriously. It was fun for what it's worth...after all, it's a comedy, not space opera. The sets, costumes, spaceships, and killer robots were actually pretty decent in their overall designs. Special effects were cheesey though, but...it added to the charm of the movie. I have seen far worse like Metal Storm: The Destruction of Jared Synn, Megaforce, and Nightflyers, and those were suppose to be serious sci-fi B-movies.

I sincerely enjoyed this movie tremendously, and if I am correct about it, Ireland's first independent effort in this genre? Great. Oh, go on, why don't you give an explanation to your excited and announced conjectures? It's as entertaining in it's own right and in comparison they're far more entertaining than Dr.Who or new Battlestar Galactica.

Its tagged as a Comedy Sci-Fi.... I would tag it as a Dumb Sci-Fi Action.... Comedy is meant to have funny lines and/or situations, this movie didnt have much in the way of Laugh Laugh Comedy, maybe a few Snigger Snigger moments, but nothing to really remember as classically hilarious... Dumb Plot and Dumb Scenarios, but at least the action scenes and some of the effects were pretty good (for its year) It could actually have been quite good, had it been written by a properly skilled comedy screenplay writer, oh well..
