Disturbingly Awful Movie

I was stunned at how awful this movie was. Stereotypes abound. JUST NOT FUNNY!

I seen this a few years ago and I'm watching it now on TV One. It is a terrible tacky movie. I'm only watching because it's late and nothing else is on, strictly for noise level. Awful script, over the top acting, repetitive plot.

HATERS BEWARE!!

Yes it's a bad movie, but the lineup scene is easily the best part.

The thing that bugs me the most is the cover. Why are the dark skinned black people "devils" and the light skinned black people "angels"? It reminds me of this other bad movie I saw called Love Trap with the same dynamic.

Don't try to cash in love, that check will always bounce.

Reading too much into it. The two darker characters were "darker" (personality-wise) in the movie. That's why they are depicted the way they are on the cover. A shame that as a community we're so shell-shocked over light skinned vs. dark skinned that we even see petty things like this as some kind of conspiracy.

I'm laughing because you say this as if there's not a long and documented history behind that exact same perception that continues on to this day. There's a pattern of dark skinned people being seen as either bad or less attractive/desirable than lighter skinned people.

Sure it's not as prevalent as it used to be, but to completely ignore history is just going to open the door for those negative stereotypes to come roaring back in greater force.

Revenge is the most important meal of the day.

I know right! There's always a big deal with light and dark skin even when it's nothing to complain about. It's so petty and if it was the other way around no one would bat an eye.

What a stupid perception. Of course no one would bat an eye if it was the other way around because the other way does not have a historic racist significance to support it.

So go ahead and "play stupid" and ignore the obvious issues. It only makes you part of the problem. A big part.
