I don't understand why they didn't.. spoils ending

Just keep turning the ship?? Like after the oil tanker couldn't they keep swerving?? And why didn't they try turning it earlier on like back into the ocean? I watched Speed like a day before this and I have to admit there is no comparison. Speed was great! But Speed 2 was mediocre. Not the worst, but I just wasn't enthralled like I was for the original.

Maybe no-one had thought at that time to go through the ballast tanks (with the lovely furniture for the fish) and access the manual override for the bow thrusters (which don't exist) which can turn the ship (which they can't).

Besides, who would have guessed that feeding a thin rope into a propeller that could snap a 3-inch steel cable wouldn't work?
