Is The Film So Bad It's Good Or So Bad It's Bad?

It has some good sequences and a great stunt with the ship crashing into town but you can tell that De Bont, Bullock and Patric were treating the film as an obligation they had to suffer through.

Willem Defoe obviously thought, "Screw it, I'll just out-Busey Gary Busey!!"

I liked this movie when it came out and didn't understand what all the hate was about.

I caught it on TV the other day. I was young and stupid when it came out. This really is a terrible movie. 

I actually quite like this movie! I watched it when it came out when I was 9 and have watched it probably 5 times since over the years and always enjoy it. I thought it had a good balance of action/romance/drama. But it is very different to the first speed so that's probably where the hate comes from.

I saw it in theaters in 7th grade and it stunk and i loved Spawn, Street Fighter and Batman and Robin in theaters

The movie is terrible in a bad way.

I thought the movie was terrible and un-watcheable.. definitely not in the "so bad, it's good" category of Troll 2, The Room, etc

I can't believe I actually thought this movie was rather entertaining when I first saw it in theatre as a 14-year old and watched it on VHS a couple of times after that. I totally changed my opinion after finally seeing the first movie. What a piece of crap this is.

I figure that Sandra Bullock felt inclined (well, besides getting financing for Hope Floats) to make this movie even though she had a hunch that it was going to turn out badly, since the first Speed was the movie that for all intents and purposes, made her a star.

When you watch the movie she actually has very little screen time. I bet she's not on screen for more than 30 minutes of the movie.

As a sequel of Speed, it is bad, because it feels like a parody. It can be fun if you take it as a standalone movie, though.
