Quote about dreaming about money.....?

Even though Ricky Jay's character says this, I was wondering if there actually WAS a fellow who said this, or this is a famous quote. I tried to google it, and all that comes back is The Spanish Prisoner. But that doesnt mean it is originally from this necessarily, it just means it has overshadowed it. Like the quote "we are the music makers..."--that just comes up as Willy Wonka usually, even though it isn't.
