Rotary Dial Telephones-an intentional anachronism??

I just saw this movie for the third or fourth time, I can't keep track. Every time I notice something new and this time it was the preponderance of rotary dial telephones.

Was Mamet doing this just for a goof or was it something deeper? Does it imply that Joe likes old-school technology mixed with his computers?

Compared to most of the rest of the posts on this film, I know this is trivial but what the hell, I thought I'd add some fuel to the fire!

It was 1997, dude. By my high school math that's 19 years ago.

Boom.
